Bio: Welcome to the MaxisClub!
The first rule of MaxisClub is not to talk about MaxisClub.
This is a club, inspired by the fight club movie and is a place where bitcoin memes are shared.
I started as a bitcoin newbie, and many bitcoin memes helped me understand bitcoin. This collection of 2100 will work as a starter pack for newbies.
The meme collection will end when I reach 2100. And I want to make an art piece of each meme as bitcoin art and sell each meme as a unique signed, numbered and limited piece…JUST LIKE BITCOIN 🙂
Interview:
Tselly: What was your first interaction with bitcoin and what was your initial impression?
Redy: The first time I read about bitcoin was on an internet forum, the topic was about the real estate bubble, and someone mentioned bitcoin, the cryptocurrency; that caught my attention and I immediately did some research. When I went to a website that had the bitcoin logo and read about its limited quantity and that it was a cryptocurrency, I had an accurate thought: this is going to be the money of the internet, but it was not until years later that I bought my first sats.
T: When did Bitcoin finally click for you?
R: It was love at first sight, and the information I read on that website made me wish I had a full coin, ut I could only buy it on the deep web and that made me afraid. I had never entered the deep web before.
T: How long have you been illustrating and how did you discover your talent?
R: I’ve been drawing since I was a little girl, although the style of maxis is very simple. I come from a background of doing realistic illustration and sculpture, art in general; I’m pretty good at it.
T: What inspires you about bitcoin that influences your art?
R: Maxis Club is very inspired by bitcoin…it’s called MAXIS CLUB hahaha. Maxi, the frog protagonist, is based on Pepe the frog, since the first NFTs collection of art on the bitcoin blockchain is “rare pepes” and it was the first reference I found of bitcoin art. That’s why I use the frog. Also my memes are a collection of 2100 and limited, like bitcoin!
T: How long does it take you to do each meme illustration?
R: It takes less and less time because I have more and more things drawn, more scenarios, objects, characters in different postures, with different expressions, the colors I have already chosen, so I don’t choose new colors and I have many decisions taken from the beginning that help me to go faster and faster. I also create memes with new backgrounds and objects; it depends on the day. It can be 4 hours with a meme or make 4 memes in an hour – it’s relative.
T: In Bitcoin Twitter, there are many rabbit holes to fall in: what is your favorite rabbit hole, and what is a rabbit hole that surprised you, or you thought was just weird?
R: On twitter or X, I like when there are discussions for new implementations, or heated debates about bitcoin. They are fun and you also learn new things. On twitter I confirmed that we are a cult. 😆
T: Meeting plebs is the best part of conferences to me: what was your favorite interaction with a pleb so far?
R: Mostly that I can talk about what I like without being looked at with a funny face hahahah, but mainly I think that all of us who are in bitcoin in good faith. We are united by something mainly, and that is FREEDOM. All bitcoiners are lovers of freedom and that seems to me incredible and very nice.
T: A handful of plebs are lucky enough to get featured in your work: how do you decide on adding a new pleb to the Maxis Club Universe?
R: Hahaha, this is a common question; I have some rewards of various prices in geyser.fund to support my Maxis Club animation project. One of them is to make a Maxis Club style commission of the character you want. If the price is too high for even a pleb, you can email me and we can always talk; my main dependence is time.
